Say Something Already!

Since my friends are celebrating my birthday with an "unknown event"  I figured I'd go ahead and get a haircut to make sure I looked my prime for said party. I walked in sat down expected to get my ear talked off by the hair stylist. nothing. Usually I can't wait for the hair cut to end so my ear will stop bleeding due to the high pitch yapping voice from the just graduated from hair school twenty year old blonde. Sitting there in silence staring at my self in the mirror, while the girl hacked my head, felt like hours. I decided to say something, so making a quick observation I said: "Is it usually this slow on saturday?". "Nope" she said "seems like since the weather is warm no one wants to come in." Yes! She mentioned the weather, we are going to small talk and the awkward is going to go away! I got my hopes up way too soon. she sat there in her silence as if saying "there is nothing you can do to get me to talk". quiet. he opened her mouth. oddly I got excited. This time we are going to have a conversation. "Do you like your neck round or square?" DAMN IT! WHY WONT SHE TALK! I tried, brought up little things like school, or the fact it was my birthday, and even how over due I was to get a hair cut. nothing. Stone-face Stylist sat there in her silence with that smirk I grew to hate over the 30 mins we spent together. I, defeated told her my hair looked good, paid my bill and left.
